Our California Trip Part One

We just got back from our trip to California. We have been planning this trip for a long time and we are sad that it is over. The Collins clan met in not-so-sunny Newport Beach right on the boardwalk. We had an amazing view. Nothing but ocean, sky, and sand.

With all of these wonderful people...

There were 20 kids, who all enjoyed playing in the sand.

I loved sitting on the patio with the other moms and chatting.

We spent Monday, Wednesday, and Friday on the beach. On Monday night, we roasted hot dogs and marshmallows at one of the fire pits. We were really close to the pier and the ferry to Balboa Island. On Wednesday, Chason, Alan and I took a ferry over to the island for a Balboa bar (an ice cream bar, dipped in chocolate, with the topping of your choice). I'm sorry I didn't take a picture, they were gone too fast.

Chason spent Friday building an amazing sand castle.

He was surprised at the end of the day when it was still standing. He was sure one or more of the kids would have destroyed it.

It was a bit cold but we enjoyed the beach and the company. Alan still misses playing with his cousins and I miss it too.
